How much will I need to budget for Electric Gates?

Due to all the different designs and installations each quote is unique to your property but full installations start from around £5,000 and upwards.

Do I have to have my gate installed at purchase?

Can I use a third party to carry out some of the work?

We would be happy to work alongside with your preferred contractor or local trades person if you prefer, however we recommend that you have as involved as much as possible to ensure a smooth installation.

Can you recommend a contractor to build the piers

Yes we have several professional and expert building contractors we can draw on to provide building services during installation for brick piers and other accessories.

I already have substantial piers. Can these be utilised?

In many installations we can use existing piers and structures for your gates, but these are surveyed on each project as they are unique.

Are you qualified to fit my gates and automation systems?

We are fully qualified to fit gates and automation systems, carrying CHAS, NICEIC, ESR, Part P, Registered Competent Person, UKATA Asbestos and Safe Contractor certifications.

How secure will my gate installation be?

This is fully dependent on the type of gate you purchase, the locks and also the type of access system you have installed. We recommend adding a CCTV and full Access/Intercom system for additional security which we will be happy to quote for you.

What is the range of automated gate key fobs?

This is dependent on your property, line of sight and electrical or electromagnetic interference from mobile phone masts or similar but most system on average have a range of 30 to 75 metres depending on battery condition.

What if there is a power cut?

All automated gate systems have a manual override in case of power loss. The systems fitted will vary depending on the manufacturer and your requirements.

Does wind affect gates?

Yes depending on the type of gate you have installed, movement is minimal on most, but large wood gates with closed boards can be especially affected by wind so we will recommend what is the best course of action if you live in a remote and exposed area.

Will I need planning permission?

Usually no but this can depend on whether you are in a conservation area or there are regulations due to your property being listed. It is prudent to call your planning office beforehand and also the Highway Agency and Local Authority to make doubly sure. We can accept no responsibility for planning matter. We are however happy to assist you and your local authorities as far as possible.

Can you repair and maintain my gates?

We provide a comprehensive gate repair and maintenance service, we always recommend that the manufacturers schedule is followed for preventative maintenance purposes to ensure a long life for your system and to prevent surprise breakdown. If your gate system was installed by a previous installer we will need to carry out a survey before we can discuss a maintenance contract.

Why should I have a maintenance program in place?

As with all electro-mechanical devices, preventative maintenance and servicing will ensure a long life and ensure parts do not fail before time. A maintenance contract will save money in the long run as it will detect failures before they occur, a failure of one part can lead to damage of other associated systems.

Do you offer 24/7 Support?

Yes we offer 24 hour support, seven days a week including callouts.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes all new installations carry a full 10 year guarantee along with any manufacturers warranty.

Can I finance my new gates?
